About So Many Comics, So Little Time
Hi there, Fellow Comics Fan! If you are reading this, then you must be here to decide whether to subscribe to “So Many Comics, So Little Time…” my new comics newsletter. Well then, I suppose I should tell a bit about myself and what the plan for this newsletter.
So Who Am I?
My name is Roger Lee (no relation to Stan), and I have loved comic books since before I could actually read!
A few decades after I did learn to read, and really began to collect superhero comics, we come to the age of the internet, where a person can easily and instantly find any fandom they might want, and are able to converse with like-minded people. After following several social media groups that centered on comic book fandoms, I realized a couple things about comics and fans.
I am older than a lot of my fellow fans (not all of them, but a lot!).
A lot of folks have not read some pretty significant and classic storyarcs in the comics (many of which I read over the years, because, you know, I’m old!) based on questions and comments fellow fans post online.
A lot of older fans are not into current, modern (last five years or so) comics and newer characters, which is a shame, since there are a lot of good stories out there now.
Even folks who have been collecting and reading comics for a very long time have passed over some major storyarcs, because, you know, there are so many comics out there, and so little time to read them all.
That gave me the idea of a newsletter delivered right into your email inbox every week that reviews a story arc or mini-series with recommendations on whether you should read it or not.
The Newsletter
My newsletter will not contain ads, and any links included therein will not point to any sponsored (i.e. paid) links or sites. With this newsletter, I hope to build a community of like-minded comics fans who can commiserate together on our favorite costumed characters. Eventually, I plan on offering a paid subscription option that will feature additional content, but this, the original newsletter (also podcasts and videos!) will always remain a free sign-up.
So, here we are, with a newsletter (ad-free) hosted on Substack.com, a company that hosts many newsletters on many diverse topics. Each newsletter article is also posted onto my Substack.com website as an archive. Also ad-free.
I hope you choose to sign-up for the free newsletter option and join me on this comics-reading journey into mystery.
